Well information finally in is that Yohan Blake will run the 100m in WJC, along with Dexter Lee. Nikel Ashmeade will be looking to stamp his class in the 200m. Blae his scheduled to run heat 8 this afternoon while Lee will run heat 5. Other stars looking to shine are Natasha rudduck, Latoya mcdermott. Unfortunatley Mesha gaye dacosta is out with illness ,Tarik Batchelor seems to be only feild events person on the first day of championship. Pon d endz reporter keeping you up to date.

well again falsestart got the better of him , his reaction time out the blocks was 2.0 and it cost him , congrats to lee though good medal for jamaica . blake time to change u coach , u have achieved the A standard time for a A standard coach. The wind affected all athletes , (-0.8 wind) which is why it was the slowestr 100m final ever of WJC

venom stop make excuses for blake...his reaction times 0.16, 0.15,0.200 in the heats, semis, finals respectively. dexter lee reaction time was 0.188 to blakes 0.200. blake is slow out the blocks. wasnt any big difference in the finals. dexter lee executed well because there was no pressure on him and he won. blake need to rest now, hes been running 10.6s 10.5s....hes on a decline right now. a lot of talk and no action. his last good race was in february when he ran some 10.2s. if you realised, he qualified for the 200m and did not participate in it..he knew he would not medal again, its the same way he false started at trials because he would have lostto dexter lee and ashmeade and he knew it.

You actually agreeing with my point he was slow out the blocks. he did not run 200 as 100 is his pet event. just like bolt qualifiying for both but might not do so at olympics. Dexter lee is no comparison to blake he just had a bad day , we have seen blake jog to beat lee . there around 6 meetings this was lees first in over blake. Why didnt he beat him at carifta trials? or boys championship. He needs no rest he has been resting enough coming from hamstring injury, i thinkhe needs A standard coaching now , moving ffrom a junior coach

no i am saying he was slow out the blocks for all the 3 races not just the finals. his times were poor in all, even though he won the first 2 races the times were poor for blake. you might make the excuse that he was trying to conserve but he wasnt, as you finally realised in the finals. blake going downhill. it doesnt matter if he beat him all d times before, its just like asafa wen he beat tyson 10 times b4 and then the first time tyson won was on a medal occasion...thats the big day..that counts!!! no one will remember blake 10 years from now to say he was coming off an injury, and no one will need to try and remember how lee won...coz he won and has a goal and thats all there is to know. thats what the history books will say. now dexter is in the books as the first male jamaican to win at world youth and world juniors, what does blake has, not even a record to say he is the fastest junior ever.

well i disagree where sprinting is concerned your coaching is vital, especially when iu slow out the blocks and check his video for the championship his drive phase was totally changed . coachign is very vital in sprinting , the mechanics blake had 2007 is not there in 08 , coaching might help him. Dont get me werong coaching wont solve everything but it helps

yute, coaching is really a small part. a lot as to do with the athletes natural talent, if you slow a coach cant make you fast(not saying blake is slow). your competitive drive is another thing, very important for championships. your ability to keep you form and execute well under hard and pressured conditions. a lot as to do with being a great athlete, a lot that the coach has nothing to do with..other qualities are, hard work and more work, among other things...cant really bother with the typing now still, but coaching is vital but still just a small part..thing about it, steven francis has great athletes but some are still down. because he really cant do anything for them coz they lack certain major and needed qualities
